Nicknamed “The Garden Isle," Kauai is the lushest of all the Hawaiian Islands. Known to be evergreen, it is also home to beautiful white-sand beaches which are surrounded by swaying coconut palms and is thus considered by many as a picture-perfect tropical island – the perfect location for a get-away from your day-to-day life or as a vacation destination for you to cool off some steam.

Kauai is Hawaii's fourth largest island and geologically, it is the oldest amongst Hawaiian Island covering 562.3 square miles, ranking as the 21st largest island in the United States. Kauai lies 169km across the Kauai channel northwest of Oahu.

An amazing fact about this island is the tropical climate which is generally humid with stable conditions all year round. Although, records have shown some cases of extreme weather due to infrequent storms and some weather phenomena. With its abundant islands, Kauai presents a lot of activities and fun things to do which range from land-based tours and excursions to ocean activities.


The dramatic cliffs and pinnacles of its Na Pali Coast have served as a backdrop for major Hollywood films, while 10-mile-long Waimea Canyon and the Nounou Trails traversing the Sleeping Giant mountain ridge are hiking destinations.

Fishing is made very possible at this wonderful island because you can choose between saltwater and freshwater fishing. It has various sites where fishes of different species like the blue marlin, yellowfin tuna, and the likes can be easily seen. So, therefore, with the appropriate wears and proper tools, one is bound to have a wonderful fishing experience.

Kauai is considered the Perfect place for seekers of adventure because it presents tubing, a fun wilderness activity unique to Kauai. Aside from adventure, it is a wonderful way of sightseeing because you can easily drift down gently flowing canals and through several amazing tunnels into Kauai’s emerald interior.

A must-do-thing one must indulge in on a visit to Kauai is a drive along the north shore. This takes you to several beautiful locations ranging from botanical gardens, wildlife refuge, lovely beaches, and finally the St. Regis Princeville Resort.

There is a place for a historic train ride, moreover, with its rainforest and orchard, hiking is also made possible. The opportunity to taste the island-made rum, and finally the pleasure of enjoying the best Luaus called Kilo Hana Plantation.

A very important place that must be seen by visitors to this great island is the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge. This place offers wonderful and amazing views overlooking the Pacific, the unique opportunity to observe seabirds in their natural habitat is also presented and most importantly, the chance to visit the historic Kilauea Lighthouse.

The other activities include Waterfall Ride, Sailing, Snorkeling and Scuba Diving, Zipline Courses, Helicopter Tour, Jungle Safari, Kayaking and many more.


DINNER WITH BEACHFRONT VIEWS - This is regarded as the Beach House Restaurant, which is located on Lawa'i Beach. It presents excellent ocean views and a variety of seafood, which makes it preferably used for private parties and weddings.

THE ISLAND'S MOST FAMOUS DRINKS AT DUKE'S - This famous bar owes its name to Duke Paoa Kahanamoku, who happened to be a very popular Olympic swimmer and surfer. This place features a barefoot bar set right on the beach. Tropical drink like pineapple, strawberries, and rum mixed together is most appropriate for this purpose.
